    “A Promise” by Berna Elevado

Love is the only thing in this world that covers up all pain and makes someone feel wonderful again. You don’t have reasons for loving, you just do. Even if the feeling isn’t mutual. The feeling that inspires, that revives, sometimes even hurts. True love isn’t supposed to blow your mind, yet it doesn’t tend to get and to possess – it’s a and very special state of a soul.

Cosplay, Filipinas who do it and the stories behind their fame

    by Khai Nunag

Costume play, or “Cosplay” as we all know it, is portraying a certain character as of those in comic books, video games and anime by being enrobed in costumes and outfits that relate to them. Cosplaying has been one of the recently eminent practices and events in Asian countries particularly in Japan and Philippines. Cosplayers are usually derived from the fanatics of Japanese comics- or manga as technically denoted. Typically held at events like video games trade shows or cosplay parties, cosplay has already been a massive hobby, especially for teenagers and video-game or comic book aficionados.

There are some famous celebritites in the cosplay community. They rose to fame and became known for their citations and achievements in the community. Alodia Gosiengfiao, who started cosplaying at the age of 15, has become one of the fast-rising cosplayers in the Philippines. She has emerged victorious in many of the cosplay contests she has joined and is often asked to judge cosplay contests here and abroad. Aside from her love for cosplay, she is an artist alike, which I think can be a relevant factor as to why she is always on a thriving experience on contests that she joins. One thing that puts Alodia up on a pedestal is her anime-looking face. The first time you set eyes on her, you would never heighten up the skeptics because she simply looks like she doesn’t cosplay at all, that’s because she looks like a real anime character, and oh, her face is so flush like she never gets out of that silky radiance. She is, without any doubt, a living doll.

More to satisfy her artistic hunger, Alodia also draws and paints. Not only she is good at this, but also in making dolls and even creatively dressing them up with fashionable dresses. Being a graduate of BFA information Design from the Ateneo De Manila University, she is indeed a master of arts for her vast knowledge on the matter. Much has been said about this lady whose love for arts exceedingly reaches the heavens, Alodia is nonetheless a rarity in the cosplay community.

It’s all in the blood because Alodia’s sister, Ashley Gosiengfiao, 20, has also landed into this hobby. Along with her sister, Ashley also loves to costume play. This hasn’t mounted to a surprise at all for this pretty vamp deserves to belong in the circle of famous cosplayers in the country. It’s in a race of sisters with a lot of similarities because Ashley took the same college course as Alodia.

An artist was faithfully born in her because she does not only limit herself to the borders of visual arts, but also in performing arts. Ashley also loves to sing and compose songs. To add to this, she does covers of songs and uploads them on her blog for the world to hear as they tune in to a calm, melodic voice an enchantress truly owns. The end is unreachable because she is also a photographer. Land onto her portfolio and the aftermath? You might be staring blankly at each photograph for the loveliness and flaming passion they exude.

This is nevertheless an instance of great fortune because it only proves that the Gosiengfiao sisters are much more to reality’s girl-next-doors. Bestowed with numerous talents and unmistakable beauties, it’s no wonder why guys keep swooning over the captivating sisters.

Alodia Gosiengfiao, the queen of cosplay

Here’s Ashley cosplaying as Lu Xue Qi from ZX Online

An exceptional cosplayer in the making, Jia Gold Bustamante has already won in a recently concluded cosplay contest in Singapore. Armed with an incomparable aura and luxurious portrayal that flatters the character she played, she was hailed as the “finest cosplayer in Asia”.There’s much more about this Philippines’ pride that we have yet to know. Let’s watch out for her future costume plays.

I found a little information about this lovely lass. Her favorite genres of music are Visual Kei , Jpop , Jrock , Kpop (these really complements her love for cosplaying). Other interests that her heart melts for are Taekwondo and Otaku. Currently, she studies at the University of The East. Can’t get enough? Visit her DeviantArt profile for updates!

    Here’s Philippines’ pride, Jia Bustamante

Filipinas are still and all reaching the steps of international fame because another Filipino cosplayer who has been noteworthy for her cosplaying is now based on Seattle. Jerry Polence has been cosplaying since 2003 and was also able to judge a couple of cosplay competitions already. As she detailed in her Facebook account, she is a very reserved person. Behind the fame she had encountered, the ordinary girl in her loves food and cooking which is why she took a course in BS HRM in St. Paul University Manila. Want to be constantly updated? Be a fan of her on Facebook, she is active at her fan page, as she says, so don’t forget to click that ‘like button’. Also, you can visit her website at http://polence.com

    Cosplay

Someone just enlightened me and gave me an idea about what to feature next. An “in-thing” of today, Cosplaying has spread out and has been relatively a massive hobby and event likewise. Putting this into the scene, it gave me a brilliant idea of another thing to bask under The Crowd Puller’s limelight. Also, famous cosplayers like Alodia Gosiengfiao will be an inclusion to this next feature. Any supporting facts and information on this or anything you want me to give highlight into?
